The Lennon Wall (sometimes referred to as John Lennon Wall), is one of the most interesting cultural landmarks in the city. Once a regular wall tucked away in central Prague, the Lennon Wall has become somewhat of an icon and one of the most photographed locations in the city!

History

Since the 1960s, the Lennon Wall had been decorated with love poems and anti-establishment messaging. However, following the former Beatle's assassination in 1980, the wall began to be decorated with John Lennon and Beatles-inspired artwork. Artwork continues to be added to the wall, which serves as a canvas for free expression inspired by the figure of Lennon.

How to see the Lennon Wall

The wall is tucked away in a small, public side street (Velkop?evorské nám., 118 00 Malá Strana, ChequiaVelkop?evorské Nám?stí) in central Prague, just a short walk from the Charles Bridge. You can make your own way to the wall, or, to learn more about it, see it as part of a guided tour with Civitatis!
